Falls man sich als Router, daheim eine Linux Kiste hinstellen möchte, ist ein DynDNS Client teilweise nüzlich, hier ein Kurzes HowTo. Ich verwende ddclient, denn es ist klein, braucht kaum Resources, läuft stabil und einfach zu konfigurieren.

Installation
# cd /usr/src/
# tar zxvf ddclient<version>.tar.gz
# cd ddclient
# cp ddclient /usr/sbin
Konfiguration
Konfigurations-Verzeichniss erstellen
# mkdir /etc/ddclient
Beispielkonfig kopieren
# cp /usr/src/ddclient/sample-etc_ddclient.conf /etc/ddclient/ddclient.conf
Folgende Einstellungen sind für DynDNS.org oder easydns.org gedacht. Andere Dienste werden selbstverständlich auch unterstützt.
nun die ddclient.conf editieren
File: /etc/ddclient/ddclient.conf
syslog=yes Dies erstellt Logeinträge in das System Log use=if, if=ppp0 Hier muss ausgewählt werden welche Schnittstelle Überwacht werden soll. Nicht eth0 nehmen!<br/> Mit ifconfig lässt sich einfach pürfen welche pppX die richtige ist. protocol=dyndns2 DynDNS2 Protokoll ist Standart server=members.dyndns.org oder server=members.easydns.org Account Updates vom dyndns.org oder easydns.org login=xxxxx password=xxxxxx Login Daten für Dein DynDNS Account. server=members.dyndns.org, protocol=dyndns2, mydomain.dyndns.org Update "mydomain.dyndns.org" bei "dyndns.org" (Kommas nicht vergessen !!!)Du Kannst coviele Domains aktuallisieren wie Du willst, Folge einfach nur dem Syntax und für easydns.org sieht die sache so aus: server=members.easydns.org, protocol=easydns, my-domain-to-update.com
Die Konfiguration ist eigentlich Fertig!
Auto Update
Damit die Updates auch Funktionieren muss noch eine Zeile in die /etc/ppp/ip-up eingefügt werden.
